But I think it's even less of a contrast than just the boy saying "love is the sweetest thing, so I will pay this for her That's gorgeous.
He seems to realise that though the feelings hurt, the truth is that she is meant for him, so that's what he uncompromisingly lives by: almost rejecting disappointment and unwaveringly chasing his goal. That's also what stops this song from being a little pity-party, and makes it so deep and full of dynamic feeling--remembering that these things, however intense, are fleeting compared to the things that will last.
Annelise on May 10, Link. General Comment i just love this song! General Comment Okay - so I don't think that all of this song is about her not loving him as much as he loves her.
When I first heard it I thought about a woman who makes a man work for her love. She makes him crawl before running, letting their relationship mature and deepen before going head over heels and keeping him together catching him when he falls, etc.
A good love requires hard work and can be stormy - it survives the rain and the thunder but the pair see the blue skies up ahead. The man in this song is definitely the weaker of the 2, but the woman encourages him to strengthen himself. I really like it! Just my opinion General Comment why are there no comments on this song?

Sweetest Thing is a rather popular U2 song with a very memorable video. We turned down U2 when they gave us the Sweetest Thing back 20 years ago and that was a huge mistake, so if Ed Sheeran gives us a song, we won't be turning that one down McDermott, as surprised as the rest of us hearing the news, asks Keating if it is really true.
So there ya go - Boyzone turned down U2. Who'd have thought? Probably for the best, though. U2's video is pretty great. Judge urges siblings in battle over 'modest' estate to seek a compromise. The "I'm losing you" lyric alone would preclude me from using it There's always the standard "Bride cuts the cake" song I wouldn't use it.
You guys know what the lyrics are all about, so to me, that would be enough. Now that's not to say you can't play it at some other point during the night, I just wouldn't play it at such a pivotal moment, that's all.
I was going to ask, do you have brown eyes and your fiance, blue? As I formulated the Q I realised, mine are brown, hubs are blue, very blue. Thanks for helping me make the connection. There are so many truly wonderful songs to choose from, makes it hard to decide. Good luck to you both How about using "Wild honey"? Or, if you don't mind using a cover, "Everlasting love" or "Unchained melody"? That's the way our band operates-we can't play the songs unless we're fully into them.
I don't think 'The Sweetest Thing' works as a song in any wedding situation, though it is an awesome song. But in time, you will be able to relate to the song when either of you have to say sorry for something said or did.
You're such a disease! I'm actually planning on performing on guitar "sweetest thing" for my brother's wedding. Of course he's not going to get married for a while. You've been all over, and it's been all over you " - Bono " Don't you know there ain't no Devil, that's just God when he's drunk " - Tom Waits. I agree that it's probably not the best choice. I used "Sugar, Sugar", it was a fun song.
