The vampire's name is Sanguini and he immediately rouses the interest of not just Luna but other pupils at Hogwarts. It's not a surprise that Lovegood is keen to talk to the guest, though, given her fondness for the weird and wonderful things in life.
The vampire wasn't mentioned in the Half-Blood Prince movie and that's understandable given he was an extremely minor character. Lee Jordan is the Quidditch commentator for Harry's first five years at Hogwarts, with the Gryffindor pupil doing a brilliant job at captivating the crowd. After his exit, however, Hogwarts struggles to replace him.
Hufflepuff pupil Zacharias Smith gets the gig for a little bit but, after that, Luna is bafflingly picked. Amusingly, she's utterly useless. Instead of talking about the game her attention drifts to other matters and she hasn't got a clue who half of the players are.
Luna's dreadfulness irritates Minerva McGonagall and, unsurprisingly, she's replaced for the final match of the season. If it was down to us, she'd definitely have kept her job. In the Half-Blood Prince, Harry senses that something may happen to Hogwarts when both himself and Albus Dumbledore leave the castle to go in search of one of Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes.
Luna Lovegood and Ginny Weasley both stand guard that night, keeping an eye on the Hogwarts staff room in case Severus Snape does anything suspicious. Snape tricks the pair, however, despite having good intentions. He rushes out and informs the pair that Professor Flitwick has collapsed and they take the bait, immediately rushing to his aid. This allows Snape to slip away and he later murders Albus Dumbledore, having struck an agreement with the Hogwarts headmaster over his death.
Unless you've got a heart made from stone, you'll know that Dobby's death is one of the saddest moments in the whole Harry Potter series. The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 certainly does a good job of showing the Boy Who Lived in a state of distress, burying the poor little house elf alone as he comes to terms with the death of yet another loved one.
What it doesn't show is Luna's role. She performs the eulogy at Dobby's funeral and is the one who closed Dobby's eyes after his passing. And there's probably no character as eccentric and endearing as Luna Lovegood.
Throughout the series, Luna proves she not only lives her life according to her own rules — reading the Quibbler upside down, suspecting Nargles are behind her missing shoes — but that she is also one of the few who remain a loyal and consistent ally to Harry Potter. But, despite Luna living by her own standards and displaying unwavering loyalty, fans may forget that the Ravenclaw student has an unfortunate backstory, one that reveals a sad truth about her family. She tells him they are gentle, but people avoid them because they are "different.

The Lovegoods' home was largely destroyed with an erumpent horn, which Xenophilius had believed to be a Crumple-Horned Snorkack 's, blew up inside. After the failed ambush Xeno was taken to Azkaban prison for the remainder of the war. After Luna helped cut the ropes off their new cell-mates, Dobby the house-elf came to free them.
He died in rescuing them. Up until the Battle of Hogwarts, Luna stayed at the cottage for the remainder of the war, and when Dobby was buried, she closed the house-elf's eyes and provided the eulogy, thanking him for rescuing her.
During her stay, she practised using a new wand that Ollivander had made for her. She also seemed to have started a friendship with Dean. All of Dumbledore's Army was reassembled and prepared to fight. Harry and Luna in Ravenclaw Tower looking for clues.

When given the choice, she joined the battle rather than evacuating with the younger students. She stood side-by-side with fellow D. It is unknown exactly what Luna did after accompanying Harry to Ravenclaw Tower.
However, at one point she, Ernie Macmillan , and Seamus Finnigan helped the trio drive off a group of Dementors that attacked them by casting their Patronuses. Luna encouraged Harry to think of something happy, enabling him to summon his Patronus as well.
It was Harry's Patronus that caused the Dementors to finally scatter. Luna and the others slipped back into the battle. She was present when Voldemort reported Harry supposed "death" and when Neville bravely stood up to Voldemort. Thus, she had to come to terms with the fact that there are some things that simply do not exist. Luna married fellow naturalist Rolf Scamander , grandson of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them author Newt Scamander , considerably later in life than Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, who all married and started families in their early-to-mid twenties.
The couple also had twin sons named Lorcan and Lysander. She wore robes made of the flags of all sixteen qualifying countries, but her twins were at home with their grandpa and did not come. At the Quidditch World Cup final , she sat in the VIP boxes with Dumbledore's Army and her husband, where he held her hands, which might have been because he was trying to prevent his wife from putting on one of her famous Special Event Hats. In , she met at least one of the members of the recently created Statute of Secrecy Task Force , whom she dazzled with her knowledge about the many ways in which magical creatures protect themselves.
In , sixteen-year-old Luna had waist-length, straggly, dirty blonde hair, [8] protuberant silvery eyes, [9] which often seemed to be dreamily distracted, and faint eyebrows. She had an aura of "distinct dottiness" about her, [7] and was known to put her wand behind her left ear for safekeeping. Luna had a unique fashion sense that other people usually found bizarre. She had an uncanny way of making others uncomfortable by being bluntly honest — Harry Potter described her as having a " knack for embarrassing honesty ".
She was also completely unflappable and rarely seemed anxious or stressed, even under difficult circumstances such as being a prisoner of Malfoy Manor. Luna was very good at comforting others. Luna also believed in things that were proven true: Harry's story about Voldemort's return , the voices beyond the veil and the belief that there were people behind it, and that Hufflepuff Chaser Zacharias Smith was suffering from Loser's Lurgy. Loser's Lurgy is not proven to exist, but it was true that when Smith lost in Quidditch he thus acted accordingly.
