Should i use binders or notebooks in college




















Take math class, for example. It would take an insanely long time for you to type all those formulas and solve equations.

So using pen and paper is clearly the most efficient way to take notes. Same goes for physics or chemistry class.

For some classes, you may not know which form of note-taking is better until you actually start the class. Gone are the days of folding up homework worksheets and sticking them in between the pages in your notebook.

I keep one folder just for any papers related to administrative matters my degree progress reports, any bursar or registrar documents, etc. I usually put small handouts and extra looseleaf for class in my other folders. It just makes organization way easier. Your pencil case should be big enough to fit some pens and pencils, one or two highlighters, and a few other necessities. Instead of having five or six notebooks and five or six folders, you will only have one or two binders! This will not only save precious desk space, but backpack space as well! Forget forgetfulness! By keeping your subjects together, you are ensuring that you will never forget any homework or other materials for class! Here is a tip to make this easier: use dividers to section off a homework tab. Organize your life! Binders allow you to keep your class materials much more organized.

Buy dividers of two different sizes. Use the bigger ones to separate your different classes and then use the smaller ones to separate notes, homework, and tests within the class sections. For extra organization use colored separators.

Use a different color for each class! Avoid shopping next year! The great thing about binders is that they are sturdy and reusable. You can reuse your binders from semester to semester. This will save you the hassle next year! All you will have to do is take out the notes, homework, and tests from each class and replace them with new paper! Save money! For the reasons listed above in number four, you will save money!

By reusing the binder semester after semester, you are able to save money that you could, in turn, use to pay for your tuition! That seems really annoying, but since studying in your dorm seems pointless too many distractions, too noisy, etc , what should I plan on doing here?!

I would recommend taking a clipboard of some sort to your classes, and then emptying the papers into a big binder for all your subjects at the end of every day. I use a variant of this system instead of a clipboard I use a small binder that lets me divide up my notes by subject , and it seems to work pretty well. Personal opinion again here: laptops in class are annoying.

You have to start them up, you can't diagram stuff unless you have a tablet one, and they take up space on the desk and your backpack. Carry an old fashioned planner to jot to-do lists and due dates of papers and homework. There is always earplugs or music as well. Mattress topper. Laundry hamper or bag. Storage solutions. Whether you are a first -year college student or a super senior, making an impression on the first day of classes is important. Introduce yourself to the professor. Sit front and center. Read the entire course syllabus. Make new connections. While a laptop might not be an absolute necessity for the first day of community college , it may come in handy--especially if you have a long break in between classes.
